Resources for Clay Shark Project

Basic Facts About PaperClay:

•Creative Paperclay is a non-toxic modeling material that can be sculpted, molded or shaped, and air dries (no baking!) to a hard finish that can be carved, or sanded - perfect for artists and crafters of all kinds!

•It can be baked if you want to speed up the drying process, but we think it's a little tricky to bake it. Put it in a 250 degree oven for 30 minutes or until dry but check on it frequently because it can turn brown and can also burn (remember, the clay is made from paper.)

•After Paperclay® dries, it can be sanded and carved like wood. You can also build on to a completely dry Paperclay® object by just applying fresh Paperclay®

•Once Paperclay® is dried, it can be painted with any type of paint. After painting, spray with a clear acrylic spray sealer if desired. Paperclay® may also be colored by kneading water base paint into it before shaping.

**We realized that due to a miscommunication, some of you did not receive the zip lock type baggie in your boxes. Our apologies! We’re hoping that most of you have baggies at home that you can use to store your unused clay in! If you want us to pop one in an envelope to you, email us at info@outsidetheboxcreation.com and we’ll gladly do so!
